Happy 2011 Sweet Friends!!!

A Happy New Year!

Grant that I

May bring no tear to any eye

When this New Year in time shall end

Let it be said I've played the friend,

Have lived and loved and labored here,

And made of it a happy year.

~Edgar Guest

Love & Blessings for a blissful and happy New Year to you angel friends,

Hello angel friends!
I love this time of year! Our first Christmas snow arrived early tonight, and just in time to put me in the holiday spirit. It's bake night and hubby is watching the Patriots and I'm up to my elbows in cookie dough. I am making two different kinds of chocolate chip cookies. The first is my recipe which is a super thin and crispy type and the other is a box mix by Barefoot Contessa. Have you tried her cookie and cake mixes? If not, your missing out, they are so delicious and yummy!
I'm also making carmel buttons- How to- Place on a cookie sheet pretzels, the square kind and place a carmel chocolate rolo on top and bake at 250 for 8-10 minutes. Then add a whole pecan on top of the melted chocolate rolo. Allow to cool and enjoy!

On another note- If you haven't received your magazine "The Feminine Home" yet, you can email the printing company for perhaps, a tracking number. I wish they were quicker but with the holidays and all they are quite busy.

Here is the email link

Wishing you a storybook holiday!
Warmest Blessings,

Thin, Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

• 1/2 cup (1/4 lb.) butter, melted and cooled to room temperature• 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1/3 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz.)
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

1. In a bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well blended. Beat in 3 tablespoons water and the vanilla until smooth, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.
2. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir or beat into butter mixture until well incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans, if using.
3. Drop dough in 1-tablespoon portions, 2 inches apart, onto buttered 12- by 15-inch baking sheets.
4. Bake in a 300° oven until cookies are lightly browned, 18 to 20 minutes; if baking more than one pan at a time, switch pan positions halfway through baking.
5. With a wide spatula, transfer cookies to racks to cool. If hot cookies start to break, slide a thin spatula under them to release; let stand on pan to firm up, 2 to 5 minutes, then transfer to racks to cool completely.

The Feminine Home

It's FINALLY Here and available to order!!!!
I feel like I just gave birth!
It's my baby girl, and I have to say, she's GORGOUES!!!!
THE FEMININE HOME embraces the heart and soul of a woman. It is a singular place where loveliness resides and the language of romance and poetry lives; a home that coaxes an extraordinary life that is enduring, purposeful and distinctly feminine. Rooms are presented in noble sophistication that is rich in tradition, yet casually fashioned. It is pretty, not fussy, spiritual and earthy. Flowers are painted with sweetness. Decorative flourishes, ornamental borders, penned verses and tender poems all mingle to orchestrate a pensive bucolic beauty. Cottons and velvets, crystal chandeliers and whitewashed walls, scrubbed wooden floors, simple furnishings and objects from the garden; these are the elements that make a romantic home.

The magazine is 128 pages full of beautiful photos, tips and ideas with NO ADVERTISING!!  Thick, full color images with excellent printing! I was thrilled when I received my first proof.. A keeper ladies that you will go back to time and again for inspiration.

On Sale until December 31st at a special price so order yours while supplies last!

The Cover, Finally!!!

A sneak peek inside...

I took a photo of this abandon house on Deer Island NB Canada. My son Andrew thought I was crazy as the windows were broken and looked haunted to him. But I still saw its beauty. For some odd reason this old house speaks to me. I wrote a poem about it that will be in the magazine.

See this house, absent and worn

Once full of laughter and smiles

Rests forlorn and dim

Curtains left on the windows

shows good memories were there

Flowers in the garden

allowed to bloom without care

Summer will rest and winter will fall

But beauty will harvest, in spite of it all

For this house, tho tattered and old

resides the soul

of a place once called home...

I need your help? Which cover do you like best???

I can't decide on the tea stained photo above, or the orginal photo of the clothes line. This looks fresh but also like the aged look. DECISIONS!!!!

This one reminds me of an antique gift book.

Which one would you pick up???
Please post your comment, I really appreciate your feed back ladies!

Well, here I go again, making last minute BIG changes..The orginal name Vintage Blanc is spoken for and with all the searching I've done to prevent this I find it now.. So, I'm playing around with some names.  Actually I think Feminine home fits well, as not all the homes are just white in the book.  Or the obvious Vintage Rose.. Umm,  Love to know your ideas for a names too???
Ok, The cover. It is the reason for picking up a book in the first place right. I will need your opinion in the next few days as I design and re-design the cover of MY MAGABOOK. It will be huge, beautiful and inticed with inspiration. A real girl's girl read. Here is just a sneak peak as to what's inside. Excuse, Some of the text has not be written leaving filler text. Please leave a comment, Your thoughts are most appreciated..

Due out late September!!!
