My vacation with my parents was all that I hoped for... Serene, peaceful and

relaxing...I really enjoyed the one on one time with my parents.

This trip was extra special as their health is failing. I feel helpless at times as we all live so very far way from eachother and I only wish I could be there for them on a daily basis.

so I treasure every single moment I have with them...The first day we arrived was perfect..We all headed down to the sea shore for a picnic by the lighthouse. The weather was gorgoues, 85 with a gentle sea breeze. I said to my dad, if this was Boston you wouldn't find a spot to sit...It would be packed solid... Here, we had the whole Atlantic coast line to ourselves...Its so serene and traquil.

Sweet lilacs grow in abundance on the island and make for beautiful floral baskets.

My niece Nicole gathering lilacs for the kitchen table. Every room in my moms house got a tea cup or vase filled with this sweet smelling bloom...

Check out the PINK POSH! My parents neighbor colored their dog's mane pink...My sister and I were in complete amazment! The little cutey wasn't too happy while I was snapping her picture but I just couldn't resist ...

As most of you know my family is musical so its always a real treat to hear my brothers play at JT's night club in New Waterford. Brother Moe ( far right) is the only one living in Canada along with my parents so its like a big family reunion every year. A band favorite at JT's, they welcome the band back once a year for a rock "n" roll summer bash..

Moe doing what he does best! Back in the 80's Moe was the lead guitarist for the recording group Titan" out of Halifax Nova Scotia with hits like "Midnight Romeo" and "Shes a big girl now".

Moe was voted best Guitarist in Canadian Maritimes 3 years in a row.

You still got it Moe!!

It's been way too long since my last post and I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and sentiments :)

Well, I'm happy to say my garden is happy and buzzing with butterflies, bees, AND, I couldn't believe my eyes, A Humming bird... At a glance I thought it was a huge butterfly, and low and behold there it was hovering over the cat mint...( One of those moments you wish you had a camera)...

Theres so many surprises in my garden this year, along with little critters eating away at my prize roses...I tried a mixture of soapy water but it didnt seem to phase them...
Hubby gave them a shot of 7 and it seems to have curbed their appetites..

Light and dark pink knock-out roses...These are fabulous as they are low maintenance with little or no dead heading...

After a summer rain: This is my all time favorite rose, Eden climber.. It has a lovely scent and is a great cutting rose...

A work in progress; I cant wait to see how this looks by August...Mark planted two spiral Arborvitaes along an antique settee trellis, with 2 Eden climbers on either side with pink and purple perennials...We added a tin frame with my roses art in the center for decoration...

I love this idea...Take an antique plate and hot glue an old fork to the back and stake it in the ground near your roses...Welcome to my rose garden is the lovely sentiment...

This will be my last post for a while as Im going to Nova Scotia to visit my parents...I haven't seen them in over 7 months so I'm very excited to visit...Watch for lots of photos when I return...
